VANDEB EDITIONS![]() ![]() Marjorie VanDyke and Deborah Freedman established VanDeb Editions in 1999, inviting other artists to experiment with etching and monoprint, often for the first time. Since then they have published over 60 editions by 23 artists. VanDyke and Freedman began their association at Bob Blackburn’s Printmaking Workshop in 1987, sharing a passionate interest in printmaking VanDeb Editions has published prints by Daniel Berlin, Deborah Freedman, Cris Gianakos, Cheryl Goldsleger, Mimi Gross, Joseph Haske, Eric Holzman, John King, K.K. Kozik, Pamela Lawton, Mel Pekarsky, Mark Saltz, John Schiff, Claire Seidl , Arden Scott, Elke Solomon, Anita Thacher, George Trakas, Lorraine Williams, Randy Williams and Marjorie Van Dyke. NEWS: Prints published by VanDeb have recently been honored and recognized in selected group exhibitions: A monotype “Oaks and Oleanders” by Deborah Freedman was included in the show Hot Off the Press: Prints of 2006 from New York Print Shopsat the Grolier Club in Manhattan curated by Janice Oresman. The Boston Printmakers, curated by Roberta Waddell, chose K. K. Kozik to win the Magnesium Elektron NA, Inc. Prize for the print “Force Majeure” for the 2009 North American Print Biennial. A soft ground/aquatint "After Midnight with Van Dyke" by Nancy Lasar was selected for the 183rd Annual Invitational Exhibition of Contemporary American Art at the National Academy Museum of New York, Randy Williams' etching and monoprint "Scholar Rocks #21" was selected for the IPCNY New Prints 2008 / Spring show, and Mark Mullins etching "A Growing Time" was exhibited at Philagraphika in June. In addition a print from each edition was exhibited at Publishing Printshops: VanDeb Editions & Olive Branch Press at the Ink Shop Printmaking Center, Ithaca, NY in Jan/Feb 2009. Marjorie Van Dyke is a master printer who has worked with many artists including Paul Resika, Luccio Pozzi, Nell Blaine and Betye Saar. She started her own etching atelier in 1997 after printing at Bob Blackburn’s Printmaking Workshop for fifteen years. Van Dyke’s art is included in numerous collections including the Houghton Library at Harvard University, the New York Public Library, The J. Paul Getty Museum, and the Victoria Albert Museum in London. Deborah Freedman is a painter and printmaker whose work has been exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum of Art, Artists Space, The Cooper-Hewitt Museum of Design, The Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts in Hong Kong, and Rutgers University. It is included in numerous collections including The New York Public Library, Prudential, The Hess Collection, Citigroup and the Metropolitan of Museum of Art. |
